Prelude and Opening Hymn

Versicles

O Lord, open my lips,

And my mouth will declare your praise.

Make haste, O God, to deliver me;

Make haste to help me, O Lord.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son

and to the Holy Spirit;

as it was in the beginning,

is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Praise to You, O Christ. Alleluia.

Psalmody

Blessed be God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

O come, let us worship Him.

Venite

Blessed be God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

O come, let us worship Him.

Psalm 2:7–11, 12c; Antiphon: Isaiah 42:1a

Behold my servant, whom I uphold,

my chosen, in whom my soul delights.

I will tell of the decree:

The Lord said to me, “You are my Son; today I have begotten you.

Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,

and the ends of the earth your possession.

You shall break them with a rod of iron

and dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.”

Now therefore, O kings, be wise;

be warned, O rulers of the earth.

Serve the Lord with fear,

and rejoice with trembling.

for his wrath is quickly kindled.

Blessèd are all who take refuge in him.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son

and to the Holy Spirit;

as it was in the beginning,

is now and will be forever. Amen.

Behold my servant, whom I uphold,

my chosen, in whom my soul delights.

Forever, O Lord, your Word is firmly set in the heavens.

Lord, I love the habitation of your house

and the place where your glory dwells.

Blessed are they who hear the Word of God and keep it.

Lord, I love the habitation of your house

and the place where your glory dwells.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.

Lord, I love the habitation of your house

Prayers

Lord, have mercy;

Christ, have mercy;

Lord, have mercy.

Our Father who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name,

thy kingdom come,

thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;

and forgive us our trespasses

as we forgive those who trespass against us;

and lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine in the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Father in heaven, at the Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River You proclaimed Him Your beloved Son and anointed Him with the Holy Spirit. Make all who are baptized in His name faithful in their calling as Your children and inheritors with Him of everlasting life; through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Amen

Heavenly Father, You alone determine our days. Give consolation to those whose plans have been turned to disappointment and bring stillness to those adrift in uncertainty. Gently reprove us when our pride leads us to turn away from You. Create in us new hearts fixed firmly in Your mercy, which is constant, Your salvation won for us in Christ, which is certain, and the hope of eternal life You have prepared for us, which does not disappoint; through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.

Almighty God, You set the solitary in families. Look upon all who are lonely and filled with sadness. Embrace them with Your love that in the midst of their pain they may know Your abiding presence. Help us to see Your love and care in the communion of saints and the company of angels; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.

O most loving Father, You want us to give thanks for all things, to fear nothing except losing You, and to lay all our cares on You, knowing that You care for us. Strengthen us in our faith in You. Grant that the fears and anxieties of this mortal life may not separate us from Your love shown to us in Your beloved Son. We pray, bestow Your abundant blessings upon Joan Bansky, David Faerber, Aaron Lynn, Milan & Eileen Meleg, and Gustav Rauscher, Rachel Froese, John Krumbacher Jr., Zoltan Palotay, Oskar Rauscher, Grace Faerber and Noah Mitrovic; through the same Jesus Christ, Our Lord.

Amen.

O Lord, our heavenly Father, almighty and everlasting God, You have safely brought us to the beginning of this day; defend us in the same with Your mighty power and grant that this day we fall into no sin, neither run into any kind of danger, but that all our doings, being ordered by Your governance, may be righteous in Your sight; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Amen.

Benedicamus and Blessing

Let us bless the Lord.

Thanks be to God.

The grace of our Lord ✠ Jesus Christ and the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with us all.

Amen.
