Prelude and Opening Hymn

Versicles

O Lord, open my lips,

And my mouth will declare your praise.

Make haste, O God, to deliver me;

Make haste to help me, O Lord.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son

and to the Holy Spirit;

as it was in the beginning,

is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Praise to You, O Christ. Alleluia.

Psalmody

Blessed be God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

O come, let us worship Him.

Venite

Blessed be God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

O come, let us worship Him.

Psalm 104:24, 27-28, 30 (Antiphon: Liturgical Text)

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of the faithful,

and kindle in them the fire of your love. Alleluia.

O Lord, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all;

the earth is full of your creatures.

These all look to you,

to give them their food in due season.

When you give it to them, they gather it up;

when you open your hand, they are filled with good things.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son

and to the Holy Spirit;

as it was in the beginning,

is now and will be forever. Amen.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of the faithful,

and kindle in them the fire of your love. Alleluia.

Sermon: John 15:26-27; 16:4b-11 - "The Spirit's Work"

Te Deum

Prayers

Lord, have mercy;

Christ, have mercy;

Lord, have mercy.

Our Father who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name,

thy kingdom come,

thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;

and forgive us our trespasses

as we forgive those who trespass against us;

and lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

O God, on this day You once taught the hearts of Your faithful people by sending them the light of Your Holy Spirit. Grant us in our day by the same Spirit to have a right understanding in all things and evermore to rejoice in is holy consolation; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Amen.

Faithful God, whose mercies are new to us every morning, we humbly pray that you look upon us in mercy and renew us by your Holy Spirit; keep safe our going out and coming in and let your blessing remain with us through this day; preserve us in your righteousness and grant us a portion in that eternal life which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord; for we pray in his name.

Amen.

Keep us, O Lord, from growing weary of doing good, and give us loving hearts to show kindness to all people. Be with those who suffer any need, especially the poor, unemployed and homeless. Grant Your mercy to them and to all the households of Your people, that we shall be steadfast of heart and kept safe in every trial; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.

O Lord, be with those who govern in our nation, especially Justin, our prime minister; Douglas, our premier; and all those elected and appointed to serve us in Your name. Grant to all nations an end to this pestilence under which we suffer, and guide us to work toward the common good for the sake of those most vulnerable; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.

Gracious Father, sustain the sick, suffering, grieving and dying with Your word of peace and Your healing grace. Especially do we pray for Joan, Milan and Eileen, and Gustav; also Rachel, John, Zoltan, Oskar and Grace. Give them patience in their afflictions and faith in Your sufficient grace, that they may be kept through the day of trouble and brought with us, at last, to everlasting life; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.

O Lord, our heavenly Father, almighty and everlasting God, You have safely brought us to the beginning of this day; defend us in the same with Your mighty power and grant that this day we fall into no sin, neither run into any kind of danger, but that all our doings, being ordered by Your governance, may be righteous in Your sight; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Amen.

Benedicamus and Blessing

Let us bless the Lord.

Thanks be to God.

The grace of our Lord ✠ Jesus Christ and the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with us all.

Amen.
