Prelude and Opening Hymn

Versicles

O Lord, open my lips,

And my mouth will declare your praise.

Make haste, O God, to deliver me;

Make haste to help me, O Lord.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son

and to the Holy Spirit;

as it was in the beginning,

is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Praise to You, O Christ. Alleluia.

Psalmody

Blessed be God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

O come, let us worship Him.

Venite

Blessed be God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

O come, let us worship Him.

Psalm 145:1-2, 8, 10, 21 (Antiphon: John 16:16)

A little while, and you will see me no longer;

and again a little while, and you will see me.

I will extol you, my God and King,

and bless your name forever and ever.

Every day I will bless you

and praise your name forever and ever.

The Lord is gracious and merciful,

slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

All your works shall give thanks to you, O Lord,

and all your saints shall bless you!

My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord,

and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son

and to the Holy Spirit;

as it was in the beginning,

is now and will be forever. Amen.

A little while, and you will see me no longer;

and again a little while, and you will see me.

Te Deum

Prayers

Lord, have mercy;

Christ, have mercy;

Lord, have mercy.

Our Father who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name,

thy kingdom come,

thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;

and forgive us our trespasses

as we forgive those who trespass against us;

and lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

O God, You make the minds of Your faithful to be of one will. Grant that we may love what You have commanded and desire what You promise, that among the many changes of this world our hearts may ever be fixed where true joys are found; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Amen.

Lord God, you have commanded us to pray for all who are in authority. We thank you for the gift of government in the world and especially in our land. We pray you to give us and our fellow citizens an esteem of the officers and the magistrates of our government as sent by you. Instill in us the respect and honour which is due them. We pray, Lord, endow those in authority with wisdom for the carrying out of their many duties, with a spirit of sacrifice for the common welfare, with mercy and justice, with uprightness and kindliness. Correct the evils of selfishness, greed, vain desire for honour, or abuse of power in the governments of the world. Grant that the great purpose of government may prevail, namely to safeguard peace and prosperity, to the end that we may live soberly and uprightly in your sight and have opportunity to tell of you and your kingdom; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.

Visit, we ask you, O Lord, the homes in which your people dwell, and keep far from them all harm and danger. Grant us to dwell together in peace under the protection of your holy angels, and may your blessing be with us forever; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.

We pray behalf of all those in our congregation and beyond who are in sorrow of heart or loneliness, who suffer illness or anxiety, or those nearing death, especially Joan, Milan and Eileen, Anne and Gustav, also Rachel, John, Zoltan, Oskar, and Grace. Assure them of your great mercy, and comfort them in the knowledge that you have become their God and Saviour; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.

Lord God, we pray for all who mourn the passing of our brother-in-Christ, Roger Winger, especially the members of his family, that You would give them comfort in their grief with the certainty of the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting in Jesus Christ. We give You thanks for his life of faith and many years of service to Your Church and within Lutheran Church-Canada, and we look forward to a joyful reunion in heaven where, with angels and archangels and with all the company of heaven, we will forever laud and magnify Your glorious name; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.

O Lord, our heavenly Father, almighty and everlasting God, You have safely brought us to the beginning of this day; defend us in the same with Your mighty power and grant that this day we fall into no sin, neither run into any kind of danger, but that all our doings, being ordered by Your governance, may be righteous in Your sight; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our resurrected Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Amen.

Benedicamus and Blessing

Let us bless the Lord.

Thanks be to God.

The grace of our Lord ✠ Jesus Christ and the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with us all.

Amen.
