Versicles

O Lord, open my lips,

And my mouth will declare your praise.

Make haste, O God, to deliver me;

Make haste to help me, O Lord.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son

and to the Holy Spirit;

as it was in the beginning,

is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Praise to You, O Christ. Alleluia.

Psalmody

Blessed be God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

O come, let us worship Him.

Venite

Blessed be God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

O come, let us worship Him.

Psalm 98:1–4 (Antiphon: Is. 9:6):

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given;

and the government shall be upon his shoulder,

and his name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor,

Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Oh sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvellous things!

His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him.

The Lord has made known his salvation;

he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations.

He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness to the house of Israel.

All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;

break forth into joyous song and sing praises!

Glory be to the Father and to the Son

and to the Holy Spirit;

as it was in the beginning,

is now and will be forever. Amen.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given;

and the government shall be upon his shoulder,

and his name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor,

Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Common Responsory

Forever, O Lord, your Word is firmly set in the heavens.

Lord, I love the habitation of your house

and the place where your glory dwells.

Blessed are they who hear the Word of God and keep it.

Lord, I love the habitation of your house

and the place where your glory dwells.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.

Lord, I love the habitation of your house

and the place where your glory dwells.

Sermon: John 1:14 - "The Word Became Flesh"

Te Deum

Prayers

Lord, have mercy;

Christ, have mercy;

Lord, have mercy.

Our Father who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name,

thy kingdom come,

thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;

and forgive us our trespasses

as we forgive those who trespass against us;

and lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine in the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Almighty God, grant that the birth of Your only-begotten Son in the flesh may set us free from the bondage of sin; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Amen.

Lord God, heavenly Father, as You have caused Your eternal light to dawn on our darkness in the incarnation of Your only begotten Son, cause His glory to shine on us in the grace and truth of His Word, so that we may receive Him with joy and believe on His name; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.

Gracious Father, Your Son took up our flesh that He might heal and restore it, according to Your good purposes; let His healing hand be upon all the sick, those who suffer in our midst, and everyone in need, especially those we name in our hearts before You now . . . Comfort those who grieve this day with the truth that the Babe of Bethlehem was born that the dead might live; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.

O Lord, You promise to hear and answer our petitions. We therefore entreat You especially for our brothers and sisters in all the world who suffer from disease, loneliness, anxiety or fear of death. Let them know the comfort which only You can afford them, that they may meet their trials with courage and trust in You; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.

O Lord, our heavenly Father, almighty and everlasting God, You have safely brought us to the beginning of this day; defend us in the same with Your mighty power and grant that this day we fall into no sin, neither run into any kind of danger, but that all our doings, being ordered by Your governance, may be righteous in Your sight; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Amen.

Benedicamus and Blessing

Let us bless the Lord.

Thanks be to God.

The grace of our Lord ✠ Jesus Christ and the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with us all.

Amen.
