Christ Lutheran Church Is Closed Once Again!

Once again in-person worship at Christ Lutheran, Harrow will cease temporarily as of this weekend (April 11) for the next four Sundays, at the very least. It had been our hope to continue to gather, since the third wave of the pandemic had not yet arrived in Windsor-Essex. Under provincial shutdown and emergency stay-at-home orders the government has allowed religious services to 15% of capacity. New cases, however, have increased sharply in Ontario and locally as well. There are no signs that this will improve any time soon. Furthermore, COVID-19 variants of concern are rising here as well, which are more transmissible and deadlier, especially to younger folks, most of whom have not yet been vaccinated. Under these circumstances it is prudent that we close. In love for our neighbour we want to do what we can help bring the pandemic under control, so that hospitals are not overwhelmed, and more deaths are prevented. Please pray for the church, for our nation and the world, that God would bring this hardship to an end soon. Thank you for your understanding.

"Canada's Southernmost
Lutheran Congregation"

"We preach Christ crucified and risen
for the forgiveness of sins."

Christ Lutheran Church
was founded in A.D. 1957. We are evangelical and catholic in theology and practice; orthodox, confessional, and liturgical, by the grace of God in Christ Jesus.

Divine Services are held every Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
(May-September) and 10:00 a.m. (October-April).

Christ congregation has a bi-lingual history. The founding families were immigrants from Slavonia and Romania, whose ancestors had come originally from various parts of Germany. German Services were still held every Sunday until the Fall of 1998, when the Services were combined.

Holy Communion (the Mass of the Evangelical Lutheran Church) is celebrated every Sunday and on all Major Festivals of the Church Year. The congregation normally follows the third setting of the Divine Service in the Lutheran Service Book which is chanted; Luther's Chorale Mass (setting 5) is sung on 5th Sundays. Much music adorns the worship.

We welcome everyone to attend the Services of God; the Sacrament of the Altar is reserved for baptized members and visitors from congregations in fellowship with Christ Lutheran Church, who have received catechesis (instruction) and the Rite of Confirmation.

Mid-week Services are held during Advent and Lent. Bible Study for all ages is held every Sunday after the Divine Service.

Private Confession and Absolution is always available by request.
